Au Malawi, une génération d’enfants est livrée à elle même, sans parents. Ils sont un million dans un pays qui compte 12 millions d’habitants. Ce documentaire unique donne la parole à ces enfants, leur permet de confier leurs peines, les problèmes auxquels ils sont confrontés, leurs inquiétudes et tente de cerner ce que leur réserve le futur. Le réalisateur et son équipe ont recueilli les témoignages de personnalités en prise directe avec les enjeux du Malawi: le Président Bill Clinton, l’Archevêque Desmond Tutu, le Professeur Jeffrey Sachs et le Docteur Paul Farmer, s’efforçant de déterminer les responsabilités collectives et individuelles, cherchant à pousser le public à l’action. Plus que jamais, les femmes et les enfants sont les premières victimes. Plus que jamais, l’éducation apparaît comme le seul espoir de changement et d’amélioration des conditions de vie de cette population.
Ce film a été présenté à plusieurs festivals tels que : Le Festival Du Film TriBeCa 2008, Festival De Cannes 2008, Festival Cinéma Vérité 2008, Festival Film d’Environnement 2008, et le Festival Du Film De Sarlat 2008.
